Information Systems Symposium Marks Private-Public Partnership

Executives, educators and students gathered in Columbus for a spring symposium which both explored the future of information systems and celebrated the vital partnership that has put the college at the leading edge of business compute; technology.
A panel of information systems executives, from Digital, Xerox and Cincom Systems, the companies that have helped establish the College's computer laboratories and software, found that new technology outpaces usage.
Speakers included Robert C. Hughes, vice president, industry marketing, Digital Equipment Corp.; Dennis Yablonsky, president and chief operating officer of Cincom Systems, Inc. of Cincinnati; Bruce V. Gitlin, vice president of market planning and support, document processing unit, Xerox headquarters, Sunnyvale, Calif.; and Dr. James Perotti, associate professsor of computer systems in business, College of Business Administration, Ohio University. Dr. John Day, CBA computer Systems in business professor, was moderator for the panel.
A crowd of 150 data-processing executives, Ohio University educators and students attended the symposium held in April at the Columbus Hyatt on Capitol Square.
